Mother Goods

Mother Goods is an ecommerce brand built around culturally connected, thoughtfully sourced products. We worked together to create a shopping experience that feels less like a store and more like a curated space.

Mother Goods

Mother Goods sells products chosen for their cultural connection and provenance, not just their category — but a standard ecommerce template flattens that distinction, presenting a curated, considered product no differently than a mass-market one. The brand needed a shopping experience that felt like the space it was trying to build, not a generic storefront bolted onto a nice product photo.

We built the storefront in React on top of Shopify, keeping the commerce fundamentals — cart, checkout, inventory — reliable while giving the browsing experience room to feel more like an editorial space than a product grid. Motion was used deliberately rather than decoratively, guiding attention toward the story behind each product rather than just its price.

Layout and pacing were treated as part of the merchandising itself. Products were grouped and sequenced to surface the cultural narrative behind them, so browsing the site feels closer to walking through a considered, curated space than scrolling a catalog.

The finished site lets Mother Goods sell the way it curates — connecting customers to the story behind each product without slowing down the commerce fundamentals underneath it.
